FEATURE LISTING: Grand entertainer moments from Grange beach

Tanya and Mario Guidace spared no expense in designing and building this incredible home at Grange, but are now selling after 17 years of custodianship.

Built to the highest standard with no expense spared, this HIA award-winning coastal retreat at 67 High Street, Grange has been meticulously designed by Scott Salisbury Homes to cater for a lifestyle of family entertainment.

The four-bedroom, three-bathroom home offers a resort-like lifestyle just moments from the sparkling waters of Grange Beach.

In 2005, senior executives Tanya and Mario Guidace demolished their previous property and employed Scott Salisbury Homes to create a family home suitable for their lifestyle.

“The brief was for a home with a very large family dining and living open plan area that led to a big entertaining space outside, in addition to a kid’s zone at the back of the home,” Tanya says.

The final design showcases a floor plan of ample accommodation, with four bedrooms and multiple living areas to ensure space and seclusion for all.

The finished home simultaneously brings the family together with an open plan living and dining space, high-end kitchen and outdoor entertaining area.

“At Christmas, we reverse the layout, so we put the lounge where the dining room is and we can seat about 50 people around the table for lunch,” Tanya says.

The expansive open-plan space, overlooks a sparkling saltwater pool and outdoor living area, with glass stacker doors providing seamless integration to the covered alfresco.

“We live in the outdoor entertaining area no matter if it is winter or summer,” says Tanya.

“We have outdoor blinds and a bi-fold louvre door that closes off the undercover terrace to the back yard, so in winter it’s completely sealed off from the rain and the weather. We just have a few heaters going and it is perfectly comfortable outside.”

At the front of the home is the segregated master wing complete with a luxurious walk-in robe and an ensuite featuring a stone vanity, double basins and free-standing bath.

The separate family room and bedrooms at the back of the home have provided plenty of space for the couple’s children to enjoy.

“The boys had their own area out the back when they were smaller and it has worked very well for them as they have become teenagers and young men,” Tanya says.

“Our place has been the go-to destination for them and their friends to enjoy the pool and pre-drinks and all of those things.”

A lush, established garden surrounds the back yard creating privacy and ambience, and further adding to the resort-like essence of the property with a spacious deck and Bali hut.

“We have been on some beautiful overseas trips and we come home and still feel the distancing and it is really calming,” Tanya says.

“It really is our happy place.”

The couple performed some extensive renovations in 2016 to keep the home fresh and on-trend.

“We updated the two bathrooms and built an ensuite for one of the bedrooms, which is now a guest bedroom,” Tanya says.

“We also built on a fourth bedroom and upgraded all the outdoor entertaining area, having the roofs relined and building the outdoor barbeque and bar space.”

Located only a three-minute walk away from the pristine sands of Grange beach, the home offers a vibrant coastal lifestyle close to the shopping districts of Westfield West Lakes and Henley Square. In addition, the East Grange Train station provides a convenient commute to the CBD.

The couple is selling their much-loved home in exchange for a smaller block of land where they plan to build a similar home with less garden to maintain.

“We have purchased an investment property that we are going to knock over and build two [homes] on,” Tanya says.

One of the homes will be an investment property, while the other will be designed with the same style and features of Tanya and Mario’s current home, but with a smaller yard.

Tanya believes a family of any size and age will love the versatile design of the quality-built home.

“It is a great family home for young families or those with teenagers,” Tanya says. “It has a really versatile layout and I think that is what has worked for us the best.”

The sale is being handled by Bronte Manuel and Jessica Crane of TOOP+TOOP.
