FEATURE LISTING: Contemporary living in the heart of Norwood

Registered nurse Libby Fewings is downsizing from her architecturally-designed Norwood home, located just a short distance to The Parade and now on the market with a price tag upwards of $3 million.

The contemporary dwelling is located in the secluded Hampton Grove, in the heart of Norwood and just a stone’s throw from The Parade.

Libby and her late husband built the home about 15 years ago, but its modern design still holds up today.

“I love it here. The area is fantastic and the house is great,” says Libby.

“It’s architecturally designed and looks as though it’s just been built; it’s state of the art.

“I’ve been up and down on whether I sell because I love it here. It’s a great area and the street’s quiet.

“I am loath to sell it, but I think I have to do it sooner rather than later because of my age.”

Walking into 4 Hampton Grove, visitors are drawn to the centrepiece wooden staircase, which gives way to a large living area and kitchen.

The downstairs floorplan contains the master bedroom with an ensuite and walk-in wardrobe, as well as a study, laundry, powder room and butler’s pantry.

The kitchen and living area look on to a large outdoor entertaining space, with an outdoor kitchen and pool featuring Italian tiles.

“It was state-of-the-art when we built it and people still comment on its modern design – the colours, the Italian tiles, the marble and its open plan,” says Libby.

Upstairs there are another two bedrooms with abundant storage space, as well as a second bathroom, a lounge and a balcony with stunning views of Norwood.

While the property is low-maintenance with no grassed areas, there are plenty of public parks nearby for children to play.

“There’s quite a few parks nearby. There’s one off of Osmond Terrace going towards Magill Road and of course, there’s the parklands,” says Libby.

“There are also lots of restaurants and places to eat in the area.”

Libby says she is very reluctant to sell her dream home, but she is looking forward to a new family enjoying the house as much as she does.

“I’m going to miss the area and I will miss the house because it’s just so easy to live in,” she says.

“I’m going to miss a whole lot.”’

The sale is being handled by Jamie Brown from Booth Real Estate with an asking price of $3.25-$3.5 million.
